After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and English from the University of Toronto in 1983, Owen pursued business studies at the University of Toronto Faculty of Management where he obtained his Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in 1986. With a foundation in political theory and business, Owen entered the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and obtained his Baccalaureate of Law (LL.B.) in 1989. Owen’s articles were completed at the Toronto law firm of Holden Day Murdoch where he apprenticed in civil litigation, corporate-commercial and real estate law.
In addition to practicing law full time, Owen also teaches law clerk courses in estates, corporate, litigation and real estate law as a part time instructor at Georgian College, sits on the board of Directors for the Business Enterprise Resource Network of Barrie South Simcoe and participates in the Georgian College international student exchange program, having provided placements to numerous German exchange students. |
